Pathogenic CFTR variants cause cystic fibrosis (CF), and CF-related disorders (CF-RD), including bilateral aplasia of the vas deferens (CBAVD). BACKGROUND: The route of local and metastatic spread of testicular seminoma is well recognised and accepted. The spread is via lymphatics to the paraaortic nodes.
CASE PRESENTATION: We present a case report of testicular seminoma in a 56 year old man with previously unreported histological findings. In this case seminoma tumour cells did not appear to have spread by the expected lymphatic route. There was no involvement of retro-peritoneal para-aortic lymph nodes. The tumour appeared to have spread directly along the vas deferans in the sub epithelial plane to the mesenteric lymph nodes.

Employing subtype-specific antisera, we have measured the relative levels of five muscarinic receptor subtype proteins (m1-m5) in rabbit peripheral tissues. In a patient with azoospermia secondary to bilateral agenesis of the vas deferens an artificial spermatocele was constructed from the tunica vaginalis testis. The sperm reservoir has been in place for 14 years with its size and the quality of the aspirated semen unchanged. A total of 70 aspirations performed during this period yielded mean volumes of 0.7 +/- 0.24 ml. with a sperm density of 60 +/- 14.7 million per ml. Sperm morphology was normal and sperm motility, although markedly decreased, responded well to stimulation by a motility enhancer. The patient did not have antisperm antibodies.

Laparoscopy was performed in 31 patients presenting 36 nonpalpable testes. Sixteen adults had a chronological age of 15 to 33 years (average 21 years) and fifteen children had a chronological age of 2 to 13 years (average 6 years).
