Polyglucosan bodies in the nervous system and other viscera are the main findings at autopsy of a 64-year-old woman who had a chronic neurologic disorder of 20 years' duration. The clinical features included muscle weakness, sensory disturbances, neurogenic bladder, dementia, and cataracts. Rectal stricture occurred in each of 23 pigs submitted for necropsy from eight Indiana farms. Each stricture was an annular cicatrization of the rectal wall, 2.0-5.0 cm anterior to the anorectal junction. This is a report of a retrospective study of 24 children managed for penetrating abdominal injury over 10 years, and it represents 34% of all abdominal injuries in children in that period.
