A new method, which enabled the first immunohistochemical documentation of abnormal prion protein (PrP) in all patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), was established. This method designated as "hydrolytic autoclaving" revealed punctate PrPCJD stainings around the neuronal cell bodies and dendrites in CJD brains. These punctate stainings were almost identical with that of synaptophysin, suggesting PrPCJD accumulations in the synaptic structures. Subcellular fractionation revealed that prion protein in Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (PrPCJD) was most concentrated in the synaptosomal fraction.

Infection of rats with Nippostrongylus brasiliensis has both a parasite-specific and non-specific IgE stimulating effect. Both these respons … viously did not stimulate parasite-specific IgE and only slightly increased total IgE levels. After cell fractionation the sIg- cells from day 10 TDL increased the level of total IgE but not parasite-specific IgE whereas sIg- cells from hyperimmune TDL did not induce any IgE response unless given with sIg+ cells. Pregnant Wistar rats were treated with 5 oral doses of 100 or 300 mg/kg salicylic acid from day 16 to 20 of gestation. At day 21 of gestation, copper concentrations were measured in serum, liver and cell organelles of liver from dams and litters after cell fractionation. The presence of abnormal calcium (Ca) metabolism in the red cells of hereditary spherocytosis (HS) patients has long been in dispute. This study developed a magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) harvesting and reactivation technique for rapid cyanobacteria Microcystis aeruginosa separation. Recent studies have identified older, low-density sickle red blood cells (SSRBCs) that were resistant to dehydration by valinomycin, a K(+) ionophore. Tubocapsicum anomalum, a Chinese medicinal plant rich in anti-tumor withanolides, requires efficient extraction methods.
