Intraocular tuberculosis has protean clinical manifestations and remains an important etiological differential for uveitis in an endemic region. INTRODUCTION: Choroidal osteoma (CO) is a rare benign tumor that particularly affects young, healthy women. Its prognosis is influenced by complications, such as choroidal neovascularization (CNV), subretinal hemorrhage, subretinal fluid (SF), decalcification status, and overlying retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) atrophy. In case of CNV as the complication of CO, it is typically present in the classic form; however, reports on polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) have been rare. PURPOSE: To evaluate ocular features of nodular posterior scleritis simulating choroidal melanoma.
METHODS: A 60-year old woman presented with blurred vision in her right eye of two weeks duration. On examination she had a mild right-globe proptosis with an episcleral nodular mass as well as a large elevated nonpigmented choroidal mass involving the nasal quadrant.

Diffuse choroidal hemangioma is a congenital vascular hamartoma often associated with hemangiomatous lesions of the brain, orbit, and periocular skin (nevus flammeus) in the Sturge-Weber syndrome. Visual loss from diffuse choroidal hemangioma may result from chronic serous retinal detachments causing retinal pigment epithelial, photoreceptor or cystoid degeneration, and glaucomatous optic atrophy. One of the methods currently being used to treat choroidal melanoma employs an episcleral plaque containing I-125 radioactive seeds. However, comprehensive dosimetry studies on the plaque are scarce and controversial. For this work, we use film to study the dosimetry outside the lip of the gold shield of the eye plaque. This study is based on a computer-assisted analysis 484 enucleated malignant melanomas of the choroid from The Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital, Melbourne.
