OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency and classification of adverse events (AEs) associated with fractionated carbon dioxide (CO₂) laser treatment.
METHODS: A retrospective evaluation of 373 successive fractionated 10,600-nm CO₂ laser treatments in 287 patients conducted in a single center. AEs of laser therapy, including onset, duration, and treatment, were identified and analyzed through chart review, telephone calls, and email.
RESULTS: Three hundred seventy-three treatments resulted in 47 AEs (12.6%) in 40 patients (13.9%). The most frequent AEs were allergic or contact dermatitis (4.6%)

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) is an aggressive soft-tissue sarcoma that most commonly occurs in the skeletal muscle of the extremities or retroperitoneum of adults. Although the majority of MFH is located beneath the fascia, the tumor occasionally occurs in the subcutaneous tissue. MFH rarely occurs in children and the disease course, prognosis, and outcome in younger patients has not been well described. We report a case of cutaneous MFH presenting on the thigh of a 12-year-old boy.

BACKGROUND: Trials demonstrating the efficacy of biologic therapy for moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) have inspired new multidisciplinary treatment strategies. We present our experience with combined biologic and surgical therapy for recalcitrant HS.
