Selective intraarterial infusion of papaverine is used in the treatment of symptomatic cerebral vasospasm. The authors report two episodes of severe thrombocytopenia in a patient that were related to intraarterial administration of papaverine. A 70-year-old man with a right internal carotid artery aneurysm underwent craniotomy and aneurysm clipping. He became lethargic 8 days after the hemorrhage occurred. Cerebral angiography revealed moderate vasospasm. In addition to hypervolemic-hypertensive therapy, the patient was treated on two occasions with intraarterial administration of papaverine.

We performed PMC-CPT-11 therapy (modified pharmacokinetic modulating chemotherapy plus irinotecan, or modified PMC) in a case of sigmoid colon cancer with local invasion and multiple hepatic metastases. This regimen combined PMC therapy which includes Hartmann's operation, simple hysterectomy and postoperative 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), with intravenous irinotecan, or CPT-11. BACKGROUND: Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) is a valuable option in patients with liver-dominant metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) but remains underutilized due to limited data.

BACKGROUND: Posterior ischemic optic neuropathy results from ischemia of the retrobulbar aspect of the optic nerve. It presents as acute loss of vision without optic disc swelling.
