Pericardial fat necrosis is an infrequent cause of acute chest pain and this can mimic acute myocardial infarction and acute pericarditis. We describe here a patient with the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of pericardial fat necrosis and this was correlated with the computed tomography (CT) findings. The MRI findings may be helpful for distinguishing pericardial fat necrosis from other causes of acute chest pain and from the fat-containing tumors in the cardiophrenic space of the anterior mediastinum.

We report three cases of female patients who presented a first episode of unilateral scleritis or acute anterior uveitis while they were treated for 12-16 months by TNF inhibitor: etanercept (Enbrel((R))) 25mg twice weekly for rheumatologic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis). Varicella zoster virus is the most frequent cause of acute retinal necrosis (ARN) followed by herpes simplex virus. Sarcoidosis is a chronic multisystem disease of unknown etiology, characterized by noncaseating granulomatous infiltration of virtually any organ system. Treatment is often undertaken in an attempt to resolve symptoms or prevent progression to organ failure. Isolated status epilepticus or severe hypoglycemia rarely causes irreversible focal neurologic deficits in children. We describe three children who presented with status epilepticus and prolonged hypoglycemia resulting in hemiplegia due to unilateral hemispheric damage. The non-vascular cortical topography of the lesions is consistent with selective neuronal necrosis, confirmed by histopathology in one patient. This suggests increased neuronal vulnerability to necrosis secondary to energy failure resulting from combination of hypoglycemia and status epilepticus.
