We investigated the role of toe implants in systemic disease and evaluated local complications after foot surgery. Information was obtained from the medical records of Kaiser Permanente (northern California) patients who had undergone toe surgery between 1979 and 1988. Computerized hospitalization records were used to identify patients with toe implants (N=814) and matched controls with foot surgery not involving implants (N=837). Neurilemmomas of the tongue have only been sporadically reported in the literature. Vague symptoms and limited knowledge of this kind of tumor may result in long delays before diagnosis and treatment. The rarity of the lesion in this area is the main reason why we report this case of neurilemmoma. In order to clarify the histogenesis of alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS), an immunohistochemical and biochemical study was performed on three cases. The immunohistochemical study indicated the presence of actin, desmin, vimentin, and Z-protein in all cases. Ectopic liver is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by the presence of liver tissue outside the normal liver without any direct connection to it. The experience with uterine inflammatory myofibroblastic neoplasms with an unfavorable outcome is limited. We present the clinicopathologic features of 9 such cases, including 8 inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) and 1 epithelioid inflammatory myofibroblastic sarcoma (EIMS). OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of preserved donor tarsal plate transplantation on the repair of the tarsus defect at the time of eye lid tumor removal.
METHODS: Donor tarsal plates preserved in pure glycerin were used for the repair of tarsus defects of 58 cases after the complete removal of the eye lid tumors. The grafts were covered with rotated or slid myocutaneous and conjunctival flaps. The aim of this study is to describe the clinicopathologic and radiologic features of 40 cases of extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma (EMC) from China. There were 25 males and 15 females (sex ratio, 1.7:1). Apart from an adolescent, all patients were adults with a median age of 49years. We describe a rare manifestation fibroma in a tendon-sheath in an 83-year-old man. The patient complained initially of a slowly progressive spreading, apart of the right second and third toes. A mass was found in the plantar aspect of the foot. It was completely excised at surgery. Histological examination revealed sparse spindle or stellate cells with slit-like vessels in the dense collagenous matrix. There had been no recurrence at follow-up 17 months after surgery.

The incidence of hospital diagnosed polymyositis-dermatomyositis (PM-DM) among residents of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, PA was determined from 1963 to 1982.
