Tongue base suspension is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat obstructive sleep apnea. Phosphaturic mesenchymal tumour is an extremely rare mesenchymal neoplasm of bone or soft tissue. It is associated with paraneoplastic oncogenic osteomalacia through secretion of fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) which inhibits renal proximal tubule phosphate re-uptake. We report a case of a 36-year-old woman with a large chest wall tumour completely excised by extensive chest wall resection and reconstruction with polypropylene mesh-methylmethacrylate composite and pedicled muscle flaps.

Despite multiple variations in cystocele repair techniques, success rates have been historically low. In this review we summarize strategies to optimize long-term results of vaginally approached cystocele repair for the high-grade defect. Our proposed strategies include addressing prolapse of the vaginal apex (the uterus or the vaginal cuff), using the obturator fascia as an anchor for lateral cystocele defect repair, augmenting the repair with loosely woven polypropylene mesh, and placing a midurethral sling.

We treated 11 patients with posterior chamber intraocular lenses that were dislocated into the vitreous cavity. Using a pars plana approach, vitrectomy was performed and in order to facilitate manipulation, half of the bulbus volume was filled by perfluorodecaline. The IOL was grasped with forceps and repositioned with a special technique. In this way the first haptic is fixed in the ciliary sulcus. Fixation of the second haptic with 9 x 0 polypropylene suture was performed with a similar procedure. Finally, prophylactic cryotherapy of the retina is indicated.

Herein is presented a new technique to construct an artificial spermatocele, using monofilament knitted polypropylene wrapped with tunica vaginalis and anastomosed end-to-end to the head or the body of the epididymis. The material was tested in 10 dogs. It did not harm the spermatozoa, the function of the reservoir or the tolerance of the surrounding tissues. Therefore, the material was used in a patient with bilateral congenital absence of the vasa deferentia, while wife became pregnant following cervical insemination. The spermatocele is still functional after 15 months.

Suture selection significantly impacts surgical outcomes, with tensile strength and knot security being critical factors. This study investigated the influence of suture material and environmental factors on these parameters. This work reports the production of nanoplastics (NPs) from polypropylene (PP) free of the antioxidant Irgafos® 168 (IRG) and alkane oligomers (ALK). PP pellets were milled into a powder with particle sizes in the 100-500 μm range. A 57-year-old man presented with worsening symptoms of shortness of breath and chest pain. He was found to have a giant Morgagni hernia with severe compression of his right ventricle on computed tomography scan. The hernia which contained greater omentum, small intestine and transverse colon was urgently repaired through a median sternotomy and laparotomy with a polypropylene mesh. Morgagni hernia is a type of congenital diaphragmatic hernia, which may not be symptomatic until adulthood. Presentation with this degree of right ventricular compression is rare.

A case report of urinary stress incontinence after surgery in a 20-year-old patient with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome is presented. A neovagina was successfully created with a laparoscopic-assisted Vecchietti procedure. Fifteen months later, after normal and satisfactory sexual intercourse, the patient was seen for stress urinary incontinence. A second surgery consistent with the transobturator tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) system with nonelastic polypropylene suburethral TVT allowed full correction of the urinary symptoms.

OBJECTIVE: to establish the optimum preparation procedure for Tongjingshu babu sticking plaster.
METHOD: Orthogonal design was used to observe the adhesion power, cohesion by the multi-electronic experimental equipment.
RESULT: The best formulation is composed of ointment, polypropylene acid, glycerin, bond and its proportion is 0.2:4:8:1.2, the final plaster contains 35% water with idea stability to the skin.
CONCLUSION: The formulation of Tongjing-shu babu sticking plaster is resonable and its preparation is simple and rapid.
