The efficiency and mechanism of trace mercury (Hg(II)) removal by in situ formed manganese-ferric (hydr)oxides (in situ Mn-Fe) were investigated by reacting KMnO4 with Fe(II) in simulated solutions and natural water. BACKGROUND: Gitelman syndrome (GS) is a rare tubulopathy with clinical and genetic heterogeneity. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of Chinese GS patients.
METHODS: The diagnosis of GS was established by combining clinical phenotypes with genetic testing, after which the clinical, biochemical, and genetic data were statistically analyzed.

The kinetics, intracellular distribution and effects of ion transport inhibitors on the uptake of 99Tcm-tetrofosmin, 99Tcm-methoxyisobutyl isonitrile (99Tcm-MIBI) and 201Tl were investigated in a tumour cell line. Clitoria ternatea has a long history of traditional use in treating cardiovascular, neurological, and cancer-related ailments. To support its historical claims, this study aimed to compare the two varieties of C. ternatea whole flower, i.e., blue and white, to assess their chemical constituents for potential impact on medicinal properties. Quantitative computed tomography of the lumbar spine was carried out in 28 patients with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) in order to measure vertebral trabecular bone mineral concentration (BMC).
