Tyrosinase was measured in oocytes of the recently described albino mutant (apap) of Xenopus laevis. The effects of levamisole were investigated on the blood pressure of anaesthetized dog. Levamisole (0.5 to 4.0 mg/kg) elicited a biphasic effect, an initial brief depressor response followed by a pressor response. SO2 is commonly used to control postharvest grape mold, but the technology of low-residue usage and the regulatory effects on the grape microbial community are still to be explored. A case of dysplastic nevus syndrome in a 41-year-old tyrosinase-positive oculocutaneous albino man is presented. Clinically the patient exhibited multiple amelanotic lesions; histologic examination provided the diagnosis of dysplastic nevus syndrome. Fontana-Masson silver staining revealed the presence of melanin in the nevus cells. Hair bulbs incubated in tyrosine buffer produced melanin. This is the second reported case of dysplastic nevus syndrome in an oculocutaneous albino and the first case of dysplastic nevus syndrome in a tyrosinase-positive albino of which we are aware.

A small gel electrophoretic system has been developed for the study of tryosinase from human hairbulb melanocytes. Enzyme is released from the hairbulb with Triton X-100. Electrophoresis is run in 60 mm microcapillary pipettes with an internal diameter of 1.5 mm.
