Prostatic utricle (PU) is incomplete regression of Müllerian duct and may cause recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), stone formation, postvoid dribbling, and recurrent epididymitis. Although surgical excision is recommended to avoid complications, surgical access to PU has been challenging. It is currently undisputed that cystoscopy is required after each hysterectomy to confirm the integrity of the urinary tract before leaving the operating room. Sometimes, secondary findings are detected on cystoscopy like interstitial cystitis and exophytic tumors. We are reporting a case of asymptomatic bladder cancer discovered incidentally during a posthysterectomy cystoscopy. The chance of a woman having this cancer is about 1 in 85. This demonstrates the additional merit of performing cystoscopy after hysterectomy as a screening test for bladder cancer.

Urinary calculi were removed by means of laparoscopic-assisted cystoscopy in 3 dogs. Two small abdominal incisions were made--1 for a laparoscope and 1 for placement of a Babcock forceps to aid in grasping and lifting the urinary bladder to the abdominal wall. Epidural meperidine was used to control autonomic hyperreflexia (AH) during cystoscopy and transuretheral sphincterotomy, in a quadriplegic patient who had chronic spinal cord transection at C6 level. Meperidine 100 mg diluted in 10 ml saline was injected in the epidural space at L3-L4 level. Within 10 minutes and throughout the surgical procedure, the blood pressure stabilized at 125/70-140/80 mmHg. Epidural meperidine produces selective blockade of the spinal opiate receptors and hence may block the nociceptive reflexes below the level of cord transection and prevent AH.

Blue light cystoscopy (BLC) during transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) is guideline-recommended as it improves cancer detection and decreases recurrence of the disease. INTRODUCTION: Cystoscopy is one of the most common procedures in urology. There is no single approach to pain relief. In the literature, there are conflicting data on the efficiency of intra-urethral gels. The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, intravenous sedation, and nitric oxide analgesia has been described. Phenazopyridine has been known for a long time. Acting on the bladder mucosa, it has a local analgesic effect. AN evaluation of phenazopyridine intake prior to cystoscopy in order to decrease pain during procedure and facilitate subsequent urination was performed.

INTRODUCTION: Artificial urinary sphincters (AUS) are used to treat significant urinary incontinence. Flexible cystoscopy at the time of AUS placement provides relevant intraoperative feedback including confirmation that the AUS is functioning, visualization of coaptation, and evaluation for urethral injury.
