Here, we examined the impact of dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and monomethyl mercury (MeHg) on the redox milieu and survival of hepatocytes from Hoplias malabaricus (traíra). The yellow fever mosquito Aedes aegypti has developed resistance to DDT in the Caribbean region and in South-East Asia, but not in West Africa.
