This clinical report illustrates a modern method for oral rehabilitation of severe edentulous atrophic ridge. Shallow vestibule and small denture-bearing area of the maxilla provide insufficient retention, and only the symphyseal region of the mandible has obvious alveolar ridge. This report describes a unilateral removable partial denture with a hinged arm with magnetic retention and a prosthetic flange component that was provided for a patient with localised periodontal tissue loss. OBJECTIVE: To increase retention of overdentures in cleft palate patients by means of heightened telescopic copings with a newly designed attachment. In this study, a "precision attachment" is described to develop the stability and retention of telescopic overdentures.
CASE: A cleft palate patient was treated with a newly designed overdenture. Intraoral examination revealed poor tooth structure and retention. Therefore, a new semiprecision attachment was designed in order to increase retention and stabilization.
CONCLUSION: The patient's tolerance was increased with the new overdenture.

A common finding in patients with edentulous maxilla and partially dentate mandible is mainly the presence of flabbiness in the anterior edentulous alveolar ridge that can compromise the retention and stability of a denture. Thus, this case report presents the correction of a flabby ridge, using an auxiliary technique combining surgical excision and autogenous connective tissue grafting. The technique improved the quality of the osteomucosal support of the alveolar ridge and increased the vestibule deepness, whose result increased the success rate of the new conventional total prosthesis.

This study was undertaken to determine the feasibility of the surveyor of curvature in fabricating a full upper denture. 48 cases were investigated to determine the position of the posterior peripheral seal with the instrument.
