BACKGROUND: Research has linked war-related stressors like traumatic loss, forced displacement, and income disruption to acute mental health symptoms. Little is known about how symptoms evolve longitudinally during prolonged conflict. Extending our 90-day studies, we tracked clinical symptoms and betrayal-based moral injury over one full year following the October 7, 2023, attack and ensuing war in Israel. We hypothesized stressor-exposed individuals would report persistent psychological distress and heightened betrayal perceptions one year later.

Precise repositioning of a fractured zygoma is difficult. The traditional approach is through an eyebrow incision, but it can produce a scar that causes aesthetic and psychological problems for the patient. We describe the supratarsal fold approach to expose the frontozygomatic suture and to reduce small displacements of frontal sinus anterior wall; it gives good access and excellent aesthetic results.

Cylindrical biodegradable rods of self-reinforced polyglycolide were constructed for internal fixation of fractures in cancellous bone. The self-reinforced texture was achieved by embedding polyglycolide fibres in a polyglycolide matrix. In a prospective clinical study, 62 patients with displaced bimalleolar fractures were managed by open reduction and internal fixation using these rods. Massive gynecomastia can produce severe psychological problems for the patient. The surgical techniques employed for simple gynecomastia are not effective in correcting the displaced nipple and excess skin. Utilizing a dermal predicle technique, the excess fat and breast tissue have been removed, along with relocation of the nipple.
