Five patients with left-sided visual neglect following focal infarction of the right frontal lobe are presented. Lesion location was assessed using computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging. The common area of lesion overlap was small, being confined to the dorsal aspect of the inferior frontal gyrus (Brodmann's area 44) and the immediate underlying white matter. The early differential diagnosis of frontal lobe dementia is particularly difficult because changes of personality or behaviour overwhelm intellectual and cognitive impairments. We report the case of a patient presenting with paranoid personality disorder who refused to collaborate in neuropsychological testing. Initial functional imaging showed frontal hypometabolism that served as an early marker of frontal lobe dysfunction.

Complex partial seizures of medial or orbital frontal origin were documented in 10 of 90 patients with intractable epilepsy who were studied with depth electrodes. The clinical features that, in part, served to distinguish these seizures from complex partial seizures originating elsewhere included brief, frequent attacks, complex motor automatisms with kicking and thrashing, sexual automatisms, vocalization, and frequent development of complex partial status epilepticus. Sinonasal ossifying fibroma is a rare, slow-growing, benign bony tumour, frequently involving the maxilla and mandible in the head and neck region. Although it is known to be the second most frequent fibro-osseous tumour of paranasal sinus, to the best of our knowledge, ossifying fibroma of frontal sinus causing brain abscess has not been presented yet in the relevant literature. We present the clinical, pathological and radiological findings of ossifying fibroma of the frontal sinus associated with brain abscess.

Fibrous dysplasia of the cranial air sinuses is rarely reported in the literature. This is the first report of frontal lobe abscess (FLA) associated with fibrous dysplasia of the frontal sinus (FDFS). A 29-year-old female presented with seizures and acute confusion. We present a case of a severe thermal injury leading to vasogenic edema that appears indistinguishable on CT scan from infectious cerebritis. Despite extensive damage seen on imaging, the patient did not exhibit neurological deficits expected for the injured brain region throughout the entire hospital stay. Long-term antibiotic therapy ultimately ruled out infection as the cause of extensive vasogenic edema on imaging, making thermal injury the etiology of exclusion. This case emphasizes the impact that severe burns can have on the central nervous system.
