Congenital neutropenia predisposes to the development of haematopoetic malignancies. We present a 3,5-year child, diagnosed with congenital neutropenia at the age of I month. The diagnosis was based on peripheral blood and bone marrow aspirate analyses, performed after the treatment of multiple axillar abscesses. Recurrent infections were treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics and leukocyte colony stimulating factors. We report here the case of a 17 year-old girl with the classic signs of Goldenhar syndrome in the form of multiple accessory tragi, bilateral ocular dermoids, mandibular hypoplasia (micrognathia) and cervical lordosis. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a malignant disease of the hematopoietic tissue. The disease presentation may be related to the loss of bone marrow function or with general symptoms of neoplastic diseases. The immunosuppressive drug cyclosporine (CsA) which is used to facilitate renal transplantations, has shown several side effects. Differential diagnosis of gingival mass lesions includes several conditions and causes. Peripheral odontogenic tumors may mimic gingival swellings and, although rare, must be included in the differential diagnosis. The purpose of this article is to describe 3 different cases of peripheral odontogenic tumors and to discuss the differential diagnosis of gingival swelling. Histologic examination is mandatory when localized gingival swellings are surgically removed.

Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome is a rare congenital malformation that may include port-wine stain, soft tissue and bony hypertrophy, and venous malformations and lymphatic abnormalities. Although it usually involves the limbs, it may also rarely involve the head, neck, and orofacial regions. We evaluated the frequency and prognostic significance of extramedullary infiltrates (EMI) at presentation of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adult patients. Of 331 cases with de novo AML, 101(30.5%) had extramedullary infiltrates at diagnosis. We report on two patients who exhibit the typical features of the rare Zimmermann-Laband syndrome such as gingival fibromatosis, swelling of perioral tissues, nail hypo/aplasia, and abnormalities of terminal phalanges. The older patient suffers from epileptic seizures and shows osseous mandibular hypertrophy, two maxillary mesiodentes and lumbar spondylodysplasia.
