The macroscopic and microscopic findings in 12 cases of stenosis and/or atresia of the jejunum and ileum are presented. There was considerable uniformity within the series with overlapping of cases of atresia, stenosis, and gut infarction. An analysis of associated lesions in cases coming to necropsy suggests that the infants were suffering from shock. In nine out of the 12 cases there was evidence of intrapartum asphyxia and in eight cases evidence of retardation of intrauterine growth. Sarcomatoid carcinomas exhibit features that are common to epithelial and mesenchymal tumors. These carcinomas are rare, particularly in the small intestine. In the current case report, we describe a case of an intestinal sarcomatoid carcinoma in a 70-year-old Chinese female. A diagnosis of intestinal diverticulosis is difficult to make pre-operatively because the clinical symptoms are usually non-specific. We report the case of a 70-year-old man who had suffered from three episodes of intestinal obstruction in 1 year. He experienced dull pain and a sensation of fullness over the whole abdomen. Inflammatory fibroid polyp (IFP) of jejunnum is a rare nonneoplastic lesion of gastrointestinal tract. We report a case of a 45-year-old man presenting with small bowel obstruction due to jejuno-jejunal intussusception of an inflammatory fibroid polyp. To the best of our knowledges, this is the eighth reported case with such a presentation in English medical literature. Segmental resection of the jejunum was performed and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis.

A case of prenatally diagnosed intestinal obstruction caused by segmental dilatation of the jejunum is presented. Routine ultrasound scan showed mild polyhydramnios, a dilated small bowel loop, and scoliosis. On repeat ultrasound scan a volvulus was suspected, which led to cesarean section and laparotomy of the newborn, revealing the underlying pathology. Segmental resection and end-to-end anastomosis were followed by an uneventful recovery.
