OBJECTIVE: To investigate the diagnostic value of combined non-contrast MR lymphangiography (NCMRL) and 99TCm-DX lymphoscintigraphy in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis(RA) with lymphatic system involvement. Congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG) are a group of metabolic disorders caused by deficient protein glycosylation. PMM2-CDG, the most common CDG, is caused by phosphomannomutase (PMM) deficiency. Clinical symptoms often include neurological involvement in addition to dysmorphic features, failure to thrive, cardiac failure, renal, and endocrine abnormalities. Yellow nail syndrome (YNS) is a rare disorder characterized by the triad of yellow nails, lymphedema and chronic respiratory manifestations. A 40-year-old woman presented with clinical features of yellow nail syndrome (YNS). She had no past or present associated lymphatic or respiratory abnormalities. She was accompanied by her 12-year-old daughter, who also demonstrated clinical features of YNS. Similarly, the daughter had no past or present associated lymphatic or respiratory abnormalities. Nonimmune hydrops fetalis has been reported to be associated with congenital malformations. We describe two newborns with Noonan's syndrome who presented with nonimmune hydrops fetalis that was most likely secondary to a generalized lymphatic vessel dysplasia. Other manifestations of lymphatic abnormalities in Noonan's syndrome, such as pedal edema and pulmonary and intestinal lymphangiectasis, have been observed in children. Nonimmune hydrops represents one end of the spectrum of abnormalities seen in this syndrome.

Lymphatic abnormalities in patients with single ventricle physiology can lead to early Fontan failure and severe Fontan complications, such as protein-losing enteropathy (PLE), plastic bronchitis (PB), chylothorax, and edema. Recent developments in lymphatic imaging and interventions have shed new light on the lymphatic dysfunction in this patient population and the role of the lymphatic circulation in PLE, PB, and chylothorax. In this study, we reviewed some of the latest developments in this field and discuss new treatment options for these patients.

Peripheral oedema is commonly seen in the yellow nail syndrome (YNS). Contrast lymphangiography has shown abnormal collecting lymphatics in some patients with YNS. In this study, lymphatic function in the upper and lower limbs of 17 patients with YNS, in normal controls, and in patients with established classical lymphoedema, has been assessed using quantitative lymphoscintigraphy. Nine subjects with YNS had swelling of the legs and two had features typical of lymphoedema.
