Lymphomatous involvement of the gallbladder is extremely rare. We report on a 69-year-old woman with a history of an indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma who was found to have a new gallbladder lesion on surveillance CT scan. The mass was resected and proved to be a follicular lymphoma with the same immunohistochemical characteristics as her original tumor 12 years prior.

Lymphomas arising in extranodal sites are intriguing. The types of lymphomas encountered vary widely from one extranodal site to another. For many types of extranodal lymphomas, there are distinctive clinicopathologic features, sometimes including association with an underlying immunodeficiency syndrome, autoimmune disease, infection, or other immunologic disorder, or a predilection to affect patients of certain ethnic origins. Presented below is a review of lymphomas that are encountered most often in extranodal sites.

Lymphoma involving the colon and rectum is rare and can occur either as primary colorectal lymphoma or as a manifestation of systemic disease. In the newly published WHO classification for tumors of the hematopoietic and lymphoid tissues, Hodgkin's disease has been renamed Hodgkin lymphoma, which reflects the recent confirmation of its germinal center B-cell origin. Recent advances in the unique clinicopathologic entity of lymphoblastic lymphoma (and its variants) are discussed in this article, which details the natural history, molecular biology, prognosis, and outcome with various chemotherapy regimens. Improved outcome with the newer intensive chemotherapy regimens and the role of modalities such as autologous intensification, allogeneic bone marrow transplant, and radiotherapy are discussed.

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the testis is an uncommon disease. It accounts for approximately 9% of testicular neoplasms. Despite this low overall incidence, however, it is the most common testicular malignancy in the elderly. Primary GI lymphoma is a rare clinical entity. A primary nodal tumor should be ruled out. Symptoms may not be localizing and B symptoms are less common. A tissue diagnosis, preferably by transmural biopsy for small intestinal involvement, often reveals a high-grade morphology. The staging work-up should include a bone marrow examination, although formal staging laparatomy is not always required.
