Several authors have reported schistosomiasis caused by Schistosoma haematobium in the female genital tract of patients in endemic areas. This work describes tubal schistosomiasis by Schistosoma mansoni in a Brazilian woman submitted to hysterectomy for uterine myomatosis and metrorrhagia. Macroscopy evidenced hydrosalpinx of the left tube and multiple Schistosoma mansoni eggs were identified by anatomopathological examination. This article illustrates a rare form of schistosomiasis as the cause of tubal damage.

A case of a 73-year obese female with arterial hypertension, periodical metrorrhagia, polydipsia, and polyuria is presented. The patient was admitted to the hospital because of increasing dyspnea, cough, subfebrile body temperature, and decreasing exercise tolerance. Physical examination and laboratory tests were suggestive for massive lung embolism. Low molecular heparin was started and after 5 days' therapy, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia was diagnosed.

Ninety percent of cases of metrorrhagia during puberty are of functional origin and related to short, monophasic cycles. Emergency care may sometimes necessitate rapid administration of estrogens. Treatment of the underlying condition involves the administration of progestogens 10 days per cycle or, less frequently, artificial cycles. Spaniomenorrhea during puberty may, less commonly, be due to ovarian dystrophy. Functional forms should be treated only if they are accompanied by mastopathy.

'Pregnon', a new oral contraceptive containing 1 mg. lynestrenol and 0.05 mg. ethinyl oestradiol, was administered cyclically to 639 women of fertile age over a total of 9,159 cycles. There were no pregnancies. In most cases the withdrawal bleeding resembled normal menstruation. The incidence of metrorrhagia was relatively low and when it did occur it was usually confined to the early treatment cycles and was of very limited duration. The objective and subjective tolerance was excellent.

The case concerns a forty-year-old patient with adenomyosis, metrorrhagia, and typical sciatic pain during menstruation. After the insertion of an LNG-IUD, the bleeding stopped, but the sciatic pain persisted. MRI revealed an endometriotic nodule in the region of the sciatic nerve. The patient underwent successful laparoscopic surgery according to all principles of retroperitoneal pelvic surgery at the Reference Center for Endometriosis and made a full recovery.

Histological assays of the endometrium in females aged over 48 (curettement performed for metrorrhagia, preparations of the corpus uteri cancer and of the uterus, taken from cadavers of persons having no genital lesions) have demonstrated atrophy and transitional mucosa on which background there occurred microadenomatosis foci in some cases. Enhancement of epithelial atypism, its proliferation and larger microadenomatosis foci, microcarcinoma foci allow microadenomatosis to be referred to as precancer proper.

Ectopic pregnancies are extremely rare causing severe consequences such as uterine rupture and may lead to death. The clinical symptomatology is very atypical, essentially pelvic pain and metrorrhagia, for this reason, a misdiagnosis can be fatal. Here we report two cases of an intramural pregnancy in a 33-year-old primigravida at 6 weeks gestation after a medically assisted reproduction and a 26-year-old primigravida at 8 weeks gestation with no predisposing factors, making the diagnosis more challenging.

We report a case of sclerosing stromal tumor of the ovary in a 30-year-old pregnant patient presenting with pelvic pain, dysuria, and metrorrhagia. Very few reports of sclerosing stromal tumor of the ovary during pregnancy have been presented. The purpose of our work is to present the findings at physical examination, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and histopathology, to review the literature regarding this uncommon neoplasm, and to show the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging in the assessment of pelvic masses during pregnancy.

Pemphigus is a severe chronic autoimmune mucocutaneous bullous disease. Glucocorticoids are considered as the first line of treatment for this disease. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is also observed as a result of hypothalamic-pituitary-ovary axis dysfunction. This study reported one female patient with pemphigus vulgaris complicated with dysfunctional uterine bleeding upon systemic glucocorticoid usage. Primary lymphoma of uterine cervix is a rare disease. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is the most common subtype. We report the case of a 66-year-old woman who presented for post-menopausal metrorrhagia. Physical examination revealed a voluminous bleeding mass of the uterine cervix. The biopsy showed a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with large B cells. The extension assessment was normal. The patient was put on RCHOP protocol (Rituximub, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone) followed by radiotherapy with complete response.
