BACKGROUND: The columella, nasal tip, lip relationship in the bilateral cleft lip nasal deformity remains a great challenge for plastic surgeon. An esthetically satisfying result is difficult to obtain. A subset of patients with bilateral cleft lip nasal deformity still require columellar lengthening and nasal correction and philtrial construction. This study aimed to provide a new method based on the forked flap to improve the final appearance of these patients.

The microvascular anatomy of the small intestine of metamorphosing tadpoles of the South African Clawed Toad, Xenopus laevis (Daudin) is studied from developmental stages 55 to 65 and in adults by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of vascular corrosion casts (VCCs) and light microscopy. Up to stage 62, VCCs reveal a dense two-dimensional vascular network ensheating the intestinal tube, whose proximal portion forms a clockwise spiralling outer and its distal portion an anti-clockwise spiralling inner coil. Vessels of the intestinal network impose flat and run circularly to slightly obliquely.

An 81-year-old female presented with a giant aneurysm of the distal anterior cerebral artery (A3) which grew from a small saccular aneurysm to a huge aneurysm within 36 months before manifesting as a mass lesion. The thrombosed portion of the aneurysm showed growth, whereas the aneurysmal cavity did not change in size. The medial frontal cortex (MFC) is a part of the medial surface of the frontal lobe situated in the rostral portion of the corpus callosum (CC). In a surgical interhemispheric approach (IHA), the MFC covers the anterior communicating artery (Aco) complex until the final stage of dissection. To clarify the anatomical relationship between the MFC and the Aco complex, and to facilitate orientation in IHA, we analyzed the morphological features of the MFC in number, size, and pattern of gyri from the medial surface of the hemisphere in the subcallosal portion using 53 adult cadaveric hemispheres.
