Primary rhabdomyosarcoma of the testis is an exceptionally rare and highly malignant sarcoma. To date, there are only 23 reported cases in the literature. We report a 17-year-old male patient presented with massive scrotal swelling that had been progressively enlarging over seven-months. Scrotal ultrasound and contrast-enhanced CT revealed a 10 × 10cm left testicular heterogeneously enhancing mass that extends into the spermatic cord. A left inguinal orchiectomy was performed, and histopathological examinations showed findings consistent with Rhabdomyosarcoma, Embryonic-type. Primary embryonal

Paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is an extremely rare malignancy in adults, accounting for 7% of all RMS cases and 6% of all non-germinal intrascrotal tumors. The clinical signs are similar to those of a hydrocele or testicular tumor, typically presenting as a unilateral, painless mass in the inguinal canal or scrotum. No specific serum markers are currently available for this tumor. RMS of the epididymis is extremely rare. Particularly when it is associated with epididymitis, this malignancy is usually overlooked. We herein present a case of epididymal embryonal RMS, manifesting an painf

BACKGROUND: Failure-free survival (FFS) rates of low-risk patients with rhabdomyosarcoma improved in Intergroup Rhabdomyosarcoma Study IV after the escalation of cyclophosphamide total dose to 26.4 g/m2. However, this dose may increase the risk of adverse events, including infertility, in some patients. The JRS-I LRA0401 and LRB0402 protocols aimed to reduce the cyclophosphamide dose to 9.6 g/m2 and 17.6 g/m2, respectively, without decreasing the FFS rates.
METHODS: Subgroup-A patients received eight cycles (24 weeks) of vincristine, actinomycin D, and 1.2 g/m2/cycle cyclophosphamide. Subgrou

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a common malignancy in children, but embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) deposits rarely occur in the breast in adults. Therefore, little is known about magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of breast metastases from RMS, especially the embryonal type. We reported a case of a 22-year-old woman who was diagnosed with ERMS at left foot 2 years ago and accepted operation and chemotherapy. She was confirmed to have breast metastases from the left foot. Successive imaging examinations were performed 3 months apart. Breast ultrasound indicated a benign lesion, and further

We present a case of a perianal and perianal spindle cell variant of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). A 3-month-old male child presented with a firm mass in the perianal region. The mass measured 5 cm × 3 cm × 2 cm was surgically removed. Biopsy was performed; it showed embryonal RMS. Immunohistochemical (IHC) stains were performed using vimentin, myogenin, spinal muscular atrophy, and muscle-specific actin, which all showed positive results. The histological examination and IHC stains were consistent with a spindle cell variant of embryonal RMS.

Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a rare type of sarcoma, primarily seen in the pediatric and adolescent population. Three subtypes of embryonal RMS are described, with the botryoid type being the most common. The incidence of this disease in adult females is 0.4% to 1% with the affected age group being patients in the third to fourth decade of life. It is exceedingly rare in patients above 40 years of age. We describe the case of a 48-year-old female, gravida 9 para 5, who presented with abnormal vaginal bleeding and an exophytic mass on examination. Given her lack of requirement of maintai

Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) of the female genital tract usually occurs in the vagina during childhood. The uterine cervix as a primary site is rare, but is more frequent until the second decade of life. It usually has a good prognosis and the treatment is based on multidrug chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. RMS accounts for <5% of all adult soft tissue sarcomas. Previous reports that included all primary sites showed a poorer five-year disease specific survival for adults with RMS when compared to the pediatric population. This difference has been attributed to a higher proportion o

BACKGROUND: Primary embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the uterine corpus is an extremely rare tumor. A case of rhabdomyosarcoma originating in the uterine myoma is presented with a review of the literature.
CASE: A 76-year-old female presented with a half-year history of abdominal swelling and fever of unknown origin. A 15 x 15 x 17 cm myoma-like tumor was noted on the anterior wall of the uterine myometrium. The patient underwent total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. The histology and immunohistochemistry aided in the final diagnosis of a pure embryonal rhabdomyosarco

BACKGROUND: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft-tissue sarcoma in children and adolescents, but primary RMS of the breast is exceptionally rare and diagnostically challenging. Imaging findings are nonspecific and can mimic benign adolescent lesions (e.g., fibroadenoma), making timely histopathologic confirmation crucial. Immunohistochemistry for muscle markers - particularly desmin and myogenin - supports definitive diagnosis of embryonal RMS (ERMS).

INTRODUCTION: Rhabdomyosarcoma, though rare in the middle ear, necessitates prompt recognition for optimal management. They are malignant mesenchymal neoplasms arising from the embryonic mesenchymal cells of striated skeletal muscles.
CASE PRESENTATION: We present a case of a 5-year-old child with massive right mastoid swelling and bloody ear discharge. Cytological examination via fine needle aspiration biopsy revealed features suggestive of a malignant mesenchymal tumor, confirmed on imaging and subsequent histopathology as embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) FNCLCC grade 2. Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common soft tissue tumour in children and adolescents, but extremely rare in adults with comparatively worse outcomes. Metastatic disease is not uncommon, but intra-abdominal metastases are exceedingly rare. We report an unusual case of ileal metastases from an upper extremity rhabdomyosarcoma in a 17-year-old male who presented with abdominal pain during a routine follow-up visit. Laparotomy and ileocecectomy for a perforated ileal mass confirmed metastatic embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma with 1 out of 14 positive lymph node metastases. This case demonstrates that, alt

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas of adolescents and young adults. Histologically, rhabdomyosarcoma is classified into embryonal, alveolar, pleomorphic, and spindle cell/sclerosing rhabdomyosarcomas with further subcategorization. More than 50% of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma occur within head and neck. The retroperitoneum and pelvis are less common sites of involvement. Embryonal rhabdomyosarcomas affect mainly, but not exclusively, children between birth and 15 years of age. Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma tends to affect older patients. The usual metastatic sites

BACKGROUND: Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, the most common soft tissue malignancy in childhood, is treated with surgery and chemotherapy. Because of the young age at the time of presentation, a discussion of future reproduction is appropriate and conservative management should be considered. We present a case of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma that was successfully and conservatively managed with chemotherapy, allowing for future pregnancies.
CASE: A 17-year-old nulliparous woman with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy with adriamycin, dacarbazine, cyclophosphamide, and vin
