We have investigated excited-state electron transfer in a donor-bridge-acceptor complex containing phenothiazine (PTZ) linked via tris(meta-phenylene-ethynylene) to a tricarbonyl(bipyridine)(pyridine)Re(I) unit. Time-resolved luminescence experiments reveal two excited-state (*Re) decay regimes, a multiexponential component with a mean lifetime of 2.7 ns and a longer monoexponential component of 530 ns in dichloromethane solution. The faster decay is attributed to PTZ → *Re electron transfer in a C-shaped PTZ-bridge-Re conformer (PTZ-Re ≈ 7.5 Å). We assign the longer lifetime, which is virtual

In the crystal structure of the title compound, [ReCl(C(26)H(22)NP)(CO)(3)]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Re(I) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral environment defined by a facial arrangement of three carbonyl groups, a Cl atom and an N-[2-(diphenyl-phosphino)benzyl-idene]benzyl-amine ligand. The compound crystallizes with one CH(2)Cl(2) mol-ecule per asymmetric unit. The benzyl-amine ligand and the Re(I) centre form a non-planar six-membered chelate ring.

Five complexes with the generic formula [ReBr(CO)3(κ2-S,S'-S2C·NHC)] were obtained by reacting [ReBr(CO)5] with a set of representative imidazol(in)ium-2-dithiocarboxylate zwitterions. These ligands are the adducts of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) and carbon disulfide. The monometallic Re(i) compounds were further coupled with Na[Re(CO)5] to afford bimetallic Re(0) species. In the title rhenium(I) complex, [ReBr(C(13)H(9)N(3)O)(CO)(3)]·CH(2)Cl(2), the dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two positions with an occupancy ratio of 0.81 (15):0.19 (15). The Re(I) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from a 2-phenyl-5-(pyridin-2-yl-κN)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (L) ligand, three C atoms from three carbonyl groups and a Br atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The three rings in L are almost coplanar (a mean plane fitted through all non-H atoms of this ligand has an r.m.s. deviation of 0.063 Å), and the carbonyl ligands are coordinated in a fac arrangement.
