These positions are only possible within well-trained individuals or persons with hyperextensibility of the joints.

Erasmus syndrome is an uncommon disease brought on by exposure to silica and later manifests as systemic sclerosis (SSc) with or without silicosis. The carbon dioxide laser, when used in the treatment of rhinophyma, allows accurate removal of the diseased tissue to the desired level without risk of exposure of any underlying osteocartilaginous structures. This ensures rapid reepithelialization that minimizes the untoward scarring that may occur from delayed healing using other sculpturing techniques. Precise tissue vaporization prohibits violation of surrounding normal tissues.

Rhinophyma is classically a benign tumor of unknown etiology and pathogenesis. Once fully developed, it requires surgical treatment; its management has invited controversy for more than a century. We favor electrosurgical sculpturing, removal of the burned tissue by abrasion, treatment of the entire nasal cover as a unit, and the utilization of biological dressings to promote reepithelization. The cosmetic results have been gratifying.

In contrast to the female breast the male breast has gained much less attention by aesthetic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. In this review a focus on minimally invasive procedures to correct aesthetic problems of male breast are discussed. The major indications are gynecomastia, breast asymmetry, and body sculpturing. Minor surgery, laser lipolysis, dermal filler and cell-assisted lipotransfer are among the most promising techniques available.

Artificial acrylic nails may induce side effects such as fingertip dermatitis, periungual dermatitis, onycholysis, paresthesiae, Raynaud's phenomenon, ectopic facial involvement, and allergic contact dermatitis. We present a patient who developed allergic onycholysis from a cyanoacrylate used in a nail adhesive. She was able to use photobonded sculptured nails because they contain methacrylates that do not cross-react with cyanoacrylates.

A new instrument is suggested for surgical treatment of rhinophyma. It is an electrically driven dermatome that has been used beneficially in surgery on the palate. Its use offers several advantages over other instruments and methods currently used for the management of rhinophyma. It avoids the danger of shaving too deeply because the depth of each sweep is both predictable and constant. The size of the blade allows fine sculpturing even in narrow spaces.

This paper considers several types of imagination relevant to art historical enquiry. These are exemplified in artistic expressions ranging from palaeolithic paintings in the Chauvet Cave, to drawings, sculptures and buildings designed by Michelangelo and drawings and paintings by Leonardo, and are related to recent neuroscientific discoveries. From this it emerges that important types of imagination cannot be understood without an appreciation of the neural processes that underlie them and especially without an acknowledgement of the importance of neurochemistry.
