Thermography results of 126 patients were analysed for the diagnosis of recurrences of rectal cancer. Sixteen patients were examined after radical operations for rectal cancer without signs of recurrence to study the features of a thermal regimen in this area. The examination included thermoscopy, thermography and distant thermometry. The presence of the zone of hyperthermia in the perineum with the involvement of the sacral region and the coccygeal bone after extirpation of the rectum was shown to indicate cancer recurrence. Employing the Soviet thermal scanner "Rubin", 59 patients aged 20 to 65 years suffering from lumbosacral radiculitis were examined. Clinical examinations were supplemented with spondylography , epidurography, pneumomyelography and myelography. Operation performed on 29 patients showed a slipped disk in 26 and hypertrophy of the yellow ligament in three patients. Clinical studies of 22 patients with pathological processes in the spinal cord and vertebral column allowed a new method of diagnosing spinal tumors with the aid thermography on a Soviet thermovision "Rubin" set. According to the preliminary data this method facilitates the diagnosis and differentiation between tumors of the spinal cord. The paper contains thermograms of the back in normals and patients with extramedullar tumors of the spinal cord at the vertebral level D5--D6 and thermograms of the lower extremities in this pathological condition.

Thermographic examinations of the breasts were carried out in 359 women, most of whom had mammary symptoms. Of the 195 patients with abnormal thermograms, 27 had cancer of the breast, 53 had benign lesions, and 115 had no confirmed organic disease. The incidence of false-positive thermograms was 59%. Of the 164 patients with normal thermograms, 116 had no confirmed organic disease, 41 had benign lesions, and 7 had cancer.
