AIM: We conducted a systematic review and a meta-analysis, in order to investigate the potential association of cytokine gene polymorphisms with either aggressive or chronic periodontal disease.

The aim of this study was to investigate subgingival bacterial composition of untreated Italian subjects with aggressive and chronic periodontitis. The established and advanced lesions of juvenile periodontitis-localized form (JP) are predominated by B-lymphocytes and plasma cells.
