This study aimed to valorize galgal (Citrus pseudolimon L.) peel waste by extracting and microencapsulating its essential oil (EO) for potential food applications. The EO yield was 3.5%, with D-limonene (42.94%) as the major compound. Emulsions were prepared using maltodextrin/gum Arabic in varying ratios with soy lecithin as an emulsifier. Honokiol (HK) is the main bioactive compound isolated from the bark of Magnolia officinalis. The present work is the first to report the pharmacokinetics and distribution of HK and its two metabolites of hydroxylated HK conjugated with glucuronic and sulfuric acid (M1) and HK monoglucuronide (M2) in plasma, liver, kidney and brain following oral administration of HK (40 mg/kg) to healthy Wistar rats. Oxidation products and tocol homologues were monitored in oils during chicken frying to determine the discarding point of highly used frying oils. Oils were heated without chicken for 170h while chicken frying was performed 130 cycles at 180°C. Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) were used in place of magnesium oxide resulting in serious harm to farm animals, including cattle, chickens, geese, ducks.
