BACKGROUND: Posterolateral knee injuries can occur in 16% of patients with acute ligament injuries, and up to 70% have a combined anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. Studies have shown that, in different populations, the distance between the insertion of the popliteus tendon and the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) may be smaller than the 18.5 mm previously reported in the literature. When we have an associated injury of the ACL and the posterolateral corner (PLC), the confluence of tunnels in the lateral femoral condyle can be a potential problem during reconstruction surgery.

The medial subvastus knee exposure is often overlooked when choosing the surgical approach. When properly performed, the medial subvastus approach can allow for the treatment of a wide range of pathology while preserving the extensor mechanism.

BACKGROUND: Posterior sternoclavicular joint (SCJ) dislocations are uncommon because of the strength of the posterior joint capsule but pose a significant risk of neurovascular and mediastinal compression. Various surgical techniques have been described, with the sternal docking reconstruction using tendon allografts demonstrating improved biomechanical stability, elimination of anterior bulk, and ease of graft passage. BACKGROUND: Patellar tendon ruptures are relatively common injuries, often caused by high tensile forces on a weakened tendon. In younger patients, they typically result from eccentric loading on the extensor mechanism, whereas in older patients, trauma is the more common cause. These injuries can be functionally limiting and challenging to treat when chronic due to tendon atrophy, scarring, and proximal retraction.
INDICATIONS: Reconstruction is indicated for patients with chronic, symptomatic patellar tendon ruptures confirmed by clinical and radiographic evaluation.
