An otherwise healthy 36-year-old man presented with sudden-onset right upper quadrant abdominal pain and vomiting. A bedside ultrasound, performed to evaluate hepatobiliary pathology, revealed a normal gallbladder but free intraperitoneal fluid. After an expedited CT and emergent explorative laparotomy, the patient was diagnosed with a small bowel obstruction with ischemia secondary to midgut volvulus. Percutaneous treatment of proximal humerus fractures is a technically challenging procedure because percutaneous implants must be placed in a specific configuration to obtain optimal fixation while avoiding joint penetration. Drug-induced agranulocytosis is a potentially fatal complication despite advances in supportive care. A patient with carbimazole-induced agranulocytosis associated with marked depletion of granulocytic precursors in the marrow was treated with granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) at a dose of 5 micrograms/kg subcutaneously daily for one week. The absolute neutrophil count rose above 1 x 10(9)/L after one week of GM-CSF therapy. The GM-CSF probably expedited the recovery of the neutrophil count. Eleven abdominal computed tomographic (CT) examinations were performed in 10 patients with antibiotic-induced colitis. The clinical, endoscopic, and CT findings are presented. The most common CT findings were colonic dilatation and bowel wall thickening. However, small bowel dilation was commonly seen. Intramural gas and ascites were less frequent findings. We report a rare case of biventricular thrombus presenting as cardiogenic shock with decompensated heart failure and abdominal pain in a previously healthy individual. A five-year-old male presented with small bowel obstruction and a worm bolus on a plain abdominal radiograph. Peritonism and acidosis prompted laparotomy after a short period of resuscitation. This report highlights a presentation of urinary calculus impacted at the urethral meatus and bedside extraction after evaluation with point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). Visualization of a stone at the urethral meatus prompted a point-of-care ultrasound of the penile shaft and glans.
