BACKGROUND/AIM: Poly-Lactic acid (PLA) fillers are widely used for facial and body volume restoration because of their collagen-stimulating properties. However, early inflammation, oxidative stress, and variable long-term remodeling remain as concerns. Vitamin C and glutathione support collagen synthesis and redox homeostasis but degrade rapidly in conventional systems. This study evaluated a PLA filler incorporating Ethyl ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and glutathione stabilized within an InCube® microlattice (PLA-IC) focusing on antioxidant stability, collagen induction, and tissue response.

RATIONALE: Following the discontinuation of long access (LgA) to cocaine self-administration rats show a time-dependent increase in motivation for drug ("incubation of craving") thought to be mediated by enhancements in transmission via nucleus accumbens (NAc) calcium-permeable AMPA receptors (CP-AMPARs). Intermittent access (IntA) to cocaine produces even more robust addiction-like behavior than LgA, but it is not known if this produces comparable incubation of craving and effects on CP-AMPARs.

To elucidate the mechanism of action of interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha), the effect on cell proliferation and protein synthesis in the human hairy cell leukemia line JOK-1 and the Burkitt's lymphoma cell line Daudi were investigated.
