The autometallographic technique was used to demonstrate the localization of mercury in dorsal root ganglia of adult Wistar rats. Doxorubicin (DOX) is a highly potent anti-neoplastic agent widely used in clinical practice, but its dosage and duration of administration are strictly limited due to dose-related organ damage. OBJECTIVES: Combined administration of propranolol and disopyramide treatment often leads to better results in patients with atrial fibrillation refractory to only disopyramide administration. The electrophysiological mechanism of this combination therapy was investigated.
METHODS: Nineteen patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation without organic heart disease were studied. The indices for atrial vulnerability were compared in the control state, 10 min after injection of disopyramide (2 mg/kg) and 10 min after additional administration of propranolol (0.2 mg/kg).

The toxicity of maytansine given by sc administration was studied in 5-week-old mald F344 rats. The LD50 (14-day) was 0.48 mg/kg. Radiation recall is a rare phenomenon in which inflammation ensues on a previously irradiated tissue after the administration of a precipitating systemic agent. This reaction may appear anytime between weeks to years after radiotherapy, and it can be caused by a variety of drugs (mainly cytotoxic agents). Skin is the most commonly involved organ and despite the poor insight regarding the pathophysiology of this phenomenon, many case reports have been published on radiation recall dermatitis. In one third of cases, however, radiation recall occurs within internal organs or subcutaneous tissues.

In 7 dogs anesthetized with halothane and nitrous oxide, dipyridamole was administered in a loading dose of 1 mg/kg supplemented with 0.5 mg/kg every 30 minutes.
