A 73-year-old man presented to his primary physician with an ulcerative growth on his scalp vertex. Biopsy of the lesion confirmed the growth to be a moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, but the patient declined medical intervention. The lesion increased in size over six months, measuring 12 cm in diameter and 3 cm thickness with erosion of the skull of the vertex. We report on a patient in Austria with scalp eschar and neck lymphadenopathy. Rickettsial etiology was excluded by culture, PCR, and serologic tests. Borrelia afzelii was identified from the eschar swab by PCR. Lyme borreliosis can mimic rickettsiosis; appropriate tests should be included in the diagnostic workup of patients with eschars.

CASE: We report a case of extreme ophthalmomyiasis with extensive facial and scalp involvement in an old rural inhabitant following evisceration.

Microcystic adnexal carcinoma is a rare malignant sweat gland tumor. We present the case report of a 63 year old male patient who developed this malignancy on the scalp, which is an uncommon site. We report a case of a 23-year-old woman with a history of generalised tonic-clonic seizures, reddish brown maculopapular swelling over the face and an enlarging swelling over the scalp. Physical examinations revealed angiofibroma of the face and other typical cutaneous lesions of tuberous sclerosis, for example, shagreen patch and periungual fibroma. Scalp swelling was labelled as fibroma by dermatologists, which was further supported by the histopathological findings. Fibroma of the face is one of the commonest lesions, however, fibroma of the scalp is a rarely described entity.
