This study aimed to estimate the serological status and dynamic changes in the prevalence of Parvovirus B19 (PVB19) antibodies within the general population residing in the northern part of the Republic of Serbia (Province of Vojvodina) during a 16-year period. OBJECTIVES: In Serbia, gynaecologists could play an important role in achieving the transition from an abortion-based family planning culture to a modern contraception-based one. Exploring their knowledge, attitudes and practice regarding birth control is of particular importance for ensuring the quality of contraceptive counselling.

The early postoperative results of 44 surgically treated popliteal arterial injuries from the Yugoslav civil war are reported. Of these patients, 41 (93%) were males and three (7%) were females, average age was 28 (range 6-45) years. Twenty patients (45%) had gunshot wounds and 24 (55%) explosive wounds. It causes various infections, including fifth disease (erythema infectiosum) in small children, acute arthropathy in adults, transient aplastic crisis and chronic anemia in immunocompromised patients and even fetal infection, which may result in intrauterine fetal death or fetal hydrops. AIM: To investigate the influence of factors: the amputation type and the time lag between last surgery and prosthetic rehabilitation, on the rehabilitation duration and outcome, in patients with war-related lower limb amputations.
METHODS AND SUBJECTS: We reviewed the records of 101 war-related lower limb amputees who had inpatient rehabilitation at the National Ortho-Prosthetic Centre (NOPC) of Kosovo in Pristina, from July 1999 to June 2001, a retrospective observational study. BACKGROUND: To evaluate birth management after in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and the incidence of multi-foetal pregnancies after IVF.
METHODOLOGY: We reviewed 178 cases of women who underwent IVF and parturition at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (UCCK) in Prishtina, Kosovo. A study of sexual behaviour of teenagers is essential in the design of an effective intervention programme for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). A questionnaire was administered to 380 men, attending the department for skin and venereal diseases in Belgrade in the period from January 2000 to June 2001. The retrospective study (2002-2007) for human leptospirosis in Vojvodina was undertaken in order to describe the distribution of the disease in relation with some environmental factors. BACKGROUND: Prevalence of tubeculosis (TB) among refugees is high. The goal was to detect TB active cases in a group of refugees from Kosovo and to describe the prevalence of TB infection.
