Hearing Faculty Perceptions of the Application of Universal Design for Learning Principles in Higher Education Learning Environments for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students.

This study explored hearing faculty members' perceptions and practices regarding implementing universal design for learning (UDL) principles when teaching deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students in higher education and identified the barriers that hinder their application. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed. Data were collected through semistructured individual interviews with 10 hearing faculty members at a university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The findings indicated that most participants agreed that UDL serves as a pedagogical framework designed to customize instructi

Multilevel support for continued physical activity in university volleyball courses: a qualitative study.

BACKGROUND: Whether university physical education courses can support continued participation during the course and initial efforts to remain active beyond it depends on how interpersonal support and organizational opportunities work together. This study examined multilevel support, participation motivation, and psychosocial well-being in university volleyball courses. METHODS: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 students, four instructors, and two administrators from two comprehensive universities in South Korea. The data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. FINDIN

Physical exercise moderates the mediating effect of sleep quality between internet addiction and college students' academic burnout.

Internet addiction is a significant contributing factor to academic burnout among college students, though the underlying psychological and behavioral mechanisms warrant further investigation. This study investigated the mediating role of sleep quality between internet addiction and college students' academic burnout, as well as the moderating role of physical exercise on this mediation pathway. A study was conducted to assess internet addiction, sleep quality, academic burnout, and physical exercise among college students. Descriptive statistics and correlation analyses were performed on thes

Mapping the gender attrition gap in academic psychology.

Women comprise the majority of students and early-career scholars in psychology, yet they are less likely to remain active in research over time. This pattern raises a central question: At what stages of academic careers do women disproportionately leave academia, and what factors drive their attrition? Using large-scale bibliometric data tracking 78,216 psychologists who began publishing between 2000 and 2014, we examine gender differences in research career attrition operationalized through publishing activity across the full trajectory from entry onward. Although women accounted for more th…

High-Efficiency and High Color Purity Solution-Processable Deep-Blue OLEDs Enabled by Linearly Fully Fused Acceptor-Donor-Acceptor Molecular Design.

Solution-processable organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have attracted much attention from academia and industry because of their advantages such as low production cost and suitability for large-scale production. However, solution-processable deep-blue OLEDs that simultaneously have high efficiencies and satisfy the BT.2020 standard remain still a great challenge. To address this issue, here a tetraboron multiresonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) emitter, tBO-4B, embedded with two soluble 2,12-di-tert-butyl-5,9-dioxa-13b-boranaphtho[3,2,1-de]anthracene groups is desig…

Examining the Impact of LEADTM Training on Confidence and Practice Patterns in Rehabilitation Professionals.

Dementia affects approximately 9.6% of Americans aged 65 or older, with these numbers predicted to continue to rise, making it a significant growing public health concern that physical therapists may encounter. Dementia affects a large amount of the PT patient population, yet physical therapists report reduced confidence in treating this population due to the lack of education in academia and reduced exposure to dementia care in clinical practice. This experimental pre-post test study examined the effect of the Leveraging Existing Abilities in Dementia™ training program on confidence in handli…
