BACKGROUND: Biliary tract cancer (BTC) is a highly heterogeneous malignancy originating from the biliary epithelium or gallbladder mucosa, characterized by strong invasiveness and poor prognosis. Although surgery remains the primary curative strategy, most patients are diagnosed at advanced stages, limiting surgical opportunities. The traditional gemcitabine plus cisplatin chemotherapy regimen, although a standard treatment, has limited efficacy and often leads to drug resistance. In recent years, adoptive cell immunotherapy has emerged as a promising new avenue for BTC treatment.

Several classifications have been proposed to define rare cancers; however, the pathophysiological understanding of tumors evolves rapidly. We propose a New Classification of Rare Cancer (NCRC) using the updated International Classification of Diseases for Oncology 3.2 coding system and World Health Organization Classification of Tumors 5th edition. PURPOSE: Adoption has lifelong health implications for 7.8 million adopted people and their families in the United States. The majority of adoptees have limited family medical history (LFMH). Primary care physicians (PCPs) rarely receive training about adoptees including their mental health needs and increased suicide risk.
