Aneurysmal bone cysts are benign bone tumors that most commonly occur in people younger than 30 years. The cysts are most often found in the metaphyses of long bones and rarely affect the skull. The results of surgical treatment in 21 cases of intracranial arachnoid cysts, mostly in adults, are reviewed. There were 19 supratentorial and 2 infratentorial cysts. BACKGROUND: The hallmark of hyperparathyroidism is hypersecretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) which results in hypercalcemia and hypophosphatemia. While hypercalcemia due to malignancy is often brought about by PTH-related protein in adults, PTH-producing tumors are quite rare in clinical practice. Smooth muscle neoplasms may occur anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract, but are rare in hindgut derivatives. We report a case of colonic leiomyoma which had undergone cystic degeneration and presented as a huge abdominal mass. The diagnosis was aided preoperatively by C.T. scanning and the cyst shown subsequently to contain 13 litres of fluid. We believe this could be the largest reported cyst of this type.

A mediastinal cyst measuring 6 cm was removed by manubriotomy in a 66-year-old woman. This patient had no clinical or biological evidence of hyperparathyroidism. The cyst was close to the thymus and compressed the innominate venous trunk. It contained a clear fluid. Normal parathyroid tissue was present in the capsular wall that was fibrous and partially calcified. This cysts are rare and their mediastinal localization is exceptional.

Aneurysmal bone cyst originating from the surface of the bone, either within the cortex or subperiosteally, is an uncommon anatomic subtype. This article reports the clinical and radiologic evaluations and treatment outcomes of 10 patients with surface aneurysmal bone cysts that were surgically treated between 1982 and 2014. Goserelin depot (Zoladex) was administered for 6 months to seven women with premenopausal gross cystic breast disease. The aim of the study was to assess the efficiency of sonography in differentiating dermoid cysts of the ovary (mature cystic teratoma) from other adnexal masses.
