Transradial Embolization, an Underused Type of Uterine Artery Embolization Approach: A Systematic Review.

Background and Objectives: The most utilized approach for the embolization of uterine arteries is the transfemoral path. However, the transradial approach (TRA) has been gaining popularity among cardiologic interventions in the last years but only few studies have shown its applicability in uterine myoma treatment. The objective of this paper is to assess the feasibility, safety and efficacy of TRA when compared with the transbrachial, transulnar or transfemoral approach (TFA) for uterine arteries embolization (UAE). Materials and methods: A systematic review of the literature that analyzes th

The Bactericidal Activity of Temporin Analogues Against Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

Staphylococcus aureus is a major infectious agent responsible for a plethora of superficial skin infections and systemic diseases, including endocarditis and septic arthritis. Recent epidemiological data revealed the emergence of resistance to commonly used antibiotics, including increased numbers of both hospital- and community-acquired methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA). Due to their potent antimicrobial functions, low potential to develop resistance, and immunogenicity, antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are a promising alternative treatment for multidrug-resistant strains. Here, we examined

Perioperative outcomes of robotic-assisted versus traditional surgery for DIEP flap breast reconstruction: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer has the highest incidence among female malignancies, and surgical intervention remains a cornerstone of its management. However, destructive procedures such as traditional mastectomy or breast-conserving surgery can significantly alter patients' physical appearance and self-perception, thereby compromising their quality of life. Robotic technology has enabled new directions for minimal invasive breast surgery. The purpose of this analysis is to investigate differences in complication rates between robotic assisted DIEP flap breast reconstruction and conventional DIEP

Therapeutic equivalence of intermittent and continuous phototherapy for neonatal jaundice: a systematic review & meta-analysis with regression and trial sequential analysis.

UNLABELLED: Phototherapy is the mainstay treatment for neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, but the optimal delivery strategy remains debated. Intermittent phototherapy (IMPT) has been proposed as an alternative to continuous phototherapy (CPT) that may achieve comparable bilirubin reduction with fewer adverse effects. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the comparative efficacy and safety of IMPT versus CPT in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia. PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and ClinicalTrials.gov were searched through June 2026 for randomized controlled trials comparing IMPT

Comparative Effectiveness of Short-Course Versus Standard-Course Empiric Antibiotic Therapy for Acute Bacterial Meningitis: A Systematic Review.

Acute bacterial meningitis (ABM) remains a significant cause of mortality and long-term neurodevelopmental morbidity in children. While standard treatment often involves 14-21 days of antibiotic therapy, the optimal duration of empiric treatment remains debated. This systematic review aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of short-course empiric antibiotic treatment (<10 days) versus standard-course treatment (14-21 days) in reducing mortality and morbidity in patients with suspected ABM. We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidel
