PURPOSE: We introduce a cobot assisted cortical bone drilling, as applied in femoral, or clavicular fractures. This requires high accuracy, as minor deviations can cause complications through soft tissue penetration (STP). Human-robot collaboration (HRC) combines the surgeon's expertise with robotic stability and sensing accuracy. Thereby, the robot assistant passively guides the drill and prevents soft tissue penetration by detecting breakthroughs via integrated f/t and joint velocity sensors and stopping in place.

Thin soft tissue covering extensor tendons make them prone to injury. The extensor mechanism achieves a delicate balance with the flexor system. Inappropriate management in the acute setting can lead to long-term deformity and dysfunction. Acute extensor tendon injuries are usually managed with splinting and/or primary repair of the tendon. In cases of tendon length loss, tendon graft or flap may be necessary for reconstruction. This article presents a series of cases illustrating the appropriate management of traumatic extensor tendon injuries.

PNA is one of many treatments available for the treatment of hand contractures resulting from Dupuytren’s disease. It is generally recommended for elderly patients with less severe contractures who desire a less invasive procedure, or as a first stage to delay surgery in those with more aggressive disease. Medial column fusion is becoming increasingly popular for flatfoot reconstruction. The authors describe a new technique for medial column arthrodesis via tension band mesh plating. Plating on the tension side would provide dynamic compression of the arthrodesis sites via weightbearing.
