We have developed a guinea pig model of immediate airway responses following intradermal sensitization with free trimellitic anhydride (TMA). Guinea pigs were given an intradermal injection with either 0.1 ml of 0.3% TMA in corn oil (n = 8) or 0.1 ml of corn oil alone (n = 6). Mammalian sterile-20-like kinase 1 (MST1) is a core component of the Hippo signaling pathway. A previous study of 24 patients with MST1 deficiency revealed that more than half of the patients presented symptoms of airway hyperresponsiveness and atopic dermatitis. The sensitizing properties of different doses of the antigenic preparation obtained from H. influenzae by ultrasonic treatment have been studied. Small doses of the antigen have been found to induce immunoallergic transformations of type IV in sensitized guinea pigs. A considerable increase in the sensitizing dose of the antigen has been found to lead to the appearance of allergic reactions of type I. The regularities of the development of allergy to H. influenzae are discussed.

The half-life of IgE in the mouse was investigated by using radiolabeled and unlabeled monoclonal antibodies of the IgE class. Quantitative serologic assays were used for the unlabeled antibodies. IgE was cleared rapidly upon i.v. inoculation; after 48 hr, less than 0.2% of the initial concentration remained in the serum. The IgE was cleared initially with a half-life of 1 to 2 hr, attaining a relatively constant value of 5 to 8 hr.
