Chiasmal lesions produce a characteristic form of partial optic atrophy, subtly reflected by objective changes in the peripapillary portion of the retinal nerve fibre layer. The degrees and distributions of these changes were documented by fundus photography in a series of steady state patients with different degrees of chiasmal damage from pituitary adenoma. BACKGROUND: Panuveitis and chorioretinitis in infants with Langerhans cell histiocytosis are rare and fundus photographic documentation is lacking in the literature.
METHODS: Case report with fundus photography.
RESULTS: The authors report a case of an infant with disseminated Langerhans cell histiocytosis who presented with panuveitis in the right eye and chorioretinitis in left eye. Treatment with chemotherapy led to resolution of chorioretinal lesions; however, the visual prognosis remained guarded because of the macular involvement and amblyopia.

Benign paroxysmal torticollis occurs in infancy and early childhood. The etiology is unknown, although a vasomotor labyrinthine pathophysiology is possible. We report four cases with onset at ages of two to six months of recurrent episodes of torticollis and discomfort persisting between three hours and seven days. In three cases the torticollis was alternating. Photography or videorecording made by the parents during the attacks were helpful for the diagnosis in three cases. MRI may in some cases be necessary to rule out a space occupying lesion in the posterior fossa.

In 5 different mouse strains, we observed alopecic lesions most commonly in male breeding animals kept with C57BL females. Alopecic areas were located most frequently on the head, but were also found over the shoulders, the back and the pelvic regions. Observations gained through time-lapse photography indicate the cause is a slight increase in self-grooming and a dramatic increase in allogrooming by their female partners. The increased frequency of lesions of males kept with C57BL females suggests that the increased grooming activity may be genetically determined.
