In the present case, the plantaris tendon was ruptured in isolation and at the distal part of the tendon. An injury of the Achilles tendon, gastrocnemius muscle, or soleus muscle was not detected. To the best of our knowledge, a similar case has not yet been reported. A 70-year-old man was referred to our hospital to undergo treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma. In hospital, he complained of hematochezia and a laboratory analysis revealed a decreased level of hemoglobin. Infectious aortitis is associated with a high rate of acute aortic adverse events. However, the nonspecificity of symptoms and low sensitivity of blood cultures may delay early recognition of this condition. A 77-year-old man was incidentally found to have aortitis. His disease took a fulminant course and was complicated by dissection and rupture only 4 days after the diagnosis. Serial computed tomographic angiography provided valuable information about the development of aortitis into dissection and rupture. Postdissection histologic analysis revealed gram-positive cocci in the aortic wall.

In this female patient eosinophilic myocarditis was complicated by myocardial rupture and hemopericardium with cardiac tamponade. Special features of this case were old age of the patient, fulminant course of the disease, myocardial infarction-like ECG changes, absence of peripheral blood eosinophilia. Presentation is accompanied by discussion of issues of epidemiology, clinical course, diagnostics, and possible causes of eosinophilic myocarditis.

Only a few cases of intraventricular hydatid cysts have been described. The camalote or water lily sign is described when there is detachment of the endocyst membrane, resulting in a floating appearance like a water lily. This sign has been described most commonly in hepatic cysts. Here, we describe the camalote sign in an iatrogenically ruptured intraventricular hydatid cyst. Rupture of an intraventricular hydatid cyst poses the threat of widespread dissemination and is described in our case.
