Many rape victims are unacknowledged. These victims do not label their experience as rape; instead they give the experience a more benign label, such as a miscommunication. The current study examined the relationship between victims' acknowledgment status and post-assault behaviors, moving beyond prior research. Medical records and endoscopy images were examined for 209 horses that had gastroscopic examinations performed with a 2.5- or 3-m-long endoscope by one of the authors (MJM) during a 4-year period (1996-2000). A five year retrospective study was undertaken to determine the incidence and associated factors of fractured clavicle in newborns. The time period 1.1.1980 to 12.31.1984 was studied with the finding of 60 cases of fractured clavicle (1% of total vaginal births no. 5,847). An extensive neonatal and maternal chart review found birth weight, gestational age, and prolonged 2nd stage in primiparous patients as predisposing factors. PURPOSE: This study aims to examine the relationship between self-reported history of concussion and risk factors for completed suicide among middle school students.
METHODS: We analyzed state-level data from the 2017 YRBS. The study sample was n = 19,254 middle school students in 7 States: Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, Rhode Island, and Virginia. BACKGROUND: Emergency departments (EDs) are the primary source of care for victims of sexual assault (SA). Provision of emergency contraception (EC) to these women has previously been noted to be sporadic. Completeness of care for victims of SA and the barriers to complete care are further investigated in this study.
STUDY DESIGN: All ED attending physicians in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia were identified and contacted for participation; 35% completed the survey. Practice patterns were analyzed for the 67% of physicians who do not refer SA victims to other hospitals.
