Anorectal malformations (ARM) constitute a heterogeneous group of rare congenital anomalies affecting the cloaca. Although genetic factors are implicated in ARM pathogenesis, our understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms remains limited for both non-syndromic and syndromic ARM.
