Intraoperative Near-Infrared Fluorescence Imaging using indocyanine green in colorectal carcinomatosis surgery: Proof of concept.

PURPOSES: This study assesses the value of using Intraoperative Near Infrared Fluorescence Imaging and Indocyanine green to detect colorectal carcinomatosis during oncological surgery. In colorectal carcinomatosis cancer, two of the most important prognostic factors are completeness of staging and completeness of cytoreductive surgery. Presently, intraoperative assessment of tumoral margins relies on palpation and visual inspection. The recent introduction of Near Infrared fluorescence image guidance provides new opportunities for surgical roles, particularly in cancer surgery. METHODS: The s

Colorectal retained foreign bodies per anum introduced. Three years retrospective study at Emergency Surgery Unit.

Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) of the paranasal sinuses (PNS) is an uncommon manifestation of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), accounting for 0.2-2% of all DLBCL cases. Despite DLBCL being the most frequent subtype of NHL, its occurrence in the PNS is rare, often leading to diagnostic delays due to nonspecific symptoms. The disease primarily affects older adults with a slight male predominance and presents with nasal obstruction, proptosis, and vision loss, among other symptoms. Diagnosis is challenging due to its similarity to more common sinonasal conditions like sinusitis, and timely iden

Stapled versus handsewn methods for colorectal anastomosis surgery: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials.

CONTEXT: The interest in the results from comparisons between handsewing and stapling in colorectal anastomoses has been reflected in the progressive increase in the number of clinical trials. These studies, however, do not permit conclusions to be drawn, given the lack of statistical power of the samples analyzed. OBJECTIVE: To compare stapling and handsewing in colorectal anastomosis, testing the hypothesis that in colorectal anastomosis the technique of stapling is superior to that of handsewing. DESIGN: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials. SURVEY STRATEGY: Systematic revi
