Transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CA) is characterized by high 99mTc-labeled bone tracer uptake in the heart. However, the mechanism of bone tracer uptake into the heart remains controversial. With documented high specificity, 99m Tc-pyrophosphate (PYP) scan enables the diagnosis of transthyretin cardiomyopathy to be made reliably without endomyocardial biopsy in patients who do not have monoclonal gammopathy. We report a case with extensive myocardial uptake of Perugini 3 score in the 3-hour 99m Tc-PYP myocardial SPECT that suggested transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis. OBJECTIVE: Premature adrenarche (PA) has been associated with an increase in adrenal androgens, and the hyperandrogenic hormonal environment is known to lead to increased platelet (PLT) aggregation. In vitro assays are invaluable for the biochemical characterization of UDP-sugar:undecaprenyl-phosphate sugar-1-phosphate transferases. These assays typically involve the use of a radiolabeled substrate and subsequent extraction of the product, which resides in a lipid environment. Escherichia coli O14:K7 is a rough strain, lacking a typical O antigen, in which the enterobacterial common antigen is attached to the lipopolysaccharide core.
