In this study, we reported a 99mTc-labeled integrin α6-targeted peptide as the molecular imaging probe for tumor imaging by single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Zika virus (ZIKV) causes microcephaly by killing neural precursor cells (NPCs) and other brain cells. ZIKV also displays therapeutic oncolytic activity against glioblastoma (GBM) stem cells (GSCs). BACKGROUND: The loss of locus coeruleus noradrenergic (LC/NE) neurons in the brainstem is reported in multiple neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the mechanisms remain unclear. Strong evidence suggested that microglia-mediated neuroinflammation contributes to neurodegeneration in PD. Activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) contributes to the development of liver fibrosis. Because of a relatively small population of HSCs in the liver and the lack of specific membrane targeting proteins, HSC-targeted therapy remains a major clinical challenge.
