This study is to prospectively evaluate the efficiency of sonography for volvulus diagnosis in neonates with clinically suspected intestinal malrotation.A total of 83 patients with suspected intestinal malrotation who underwent detailed abdominal sonography and upper gastrointestinal contrast study were included. Malrotation was characterized by inversion of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) and superior mesenteric vein (SMV) in sonographic examination. From 1980-1986 intestinal mucosal lymphangiectasia was diagnosed histologically in eight patients (6 weeks to 16 years; four males/four females; seven white). The aim of this study was to assess the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of hepatobiliary scintigraphy using a 99mTc-HIDA compound to differentiate intrahepatic cholestasis from extrahepatic forms during the first months of life. AIM: To develop surgical technique for definite treatment of recurrent rectourethral fistula in children.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: From 2010 to 2022, 6 children with anal atresia and recurrent rectourethral fistula after sphincteroplasty were treated. In all patients an isolation and ligation of fistula with bringing down and resection of rectum above the level of fistula using transanal access in prone position was done.
RESULTS: The procedure was successful in all cases. Follow-up duration ranged from 4 months to 5 years. There were no complications. Sphincter function was totally preserved.

Biliary atresia (BA) is a major and devastating cholestatic liver disease in infancy. The Kasai procedure is an operation to re-establish bile flow from the liver into the intestine that can prevent the young infant from progressing rapidly to cirrhosis.
