Barium studies investigations (barium swallow, barium meal and barium enema) are the basic routine radiological examination, where barium sulphate suspension is introduced to enhance image contrast of gastrointestinal tracts. The aim of this study was to quantify the patients' radiation doses during barium studies and to estimate the organ equivalent dose and effective dose with those procedures. OBJECTIVE: To assess Latzko's colpocleisis with bilateral Martius flap as a solution for vesico vaginal fistula secondary to radiotherapy.
METHOD: 65 year old woman with past medical history of cervix adenocarcinoma treated with hysterectomy, pelvic radiotherapy and brachytherapy. She also had terminal colostomy for recto-vaginal fistula. She complained of a 2-year history of continuous urinary escape through vagina. On cistoscopy, the ureteral orifices were close to the loss of substance. Colpocleisis following Latzko's technique was performed.

Radiation recall dermatitis is an inflammatory skin reaction occurring in a previously irradiated field following the delivery of a promoting agent. We present a case of a 55-year-old female with breast cancer who developed radiation recall dermatitis (RRD) 3 years later after administration of levofloxacin. A vast majority of cases occur after administration of chemotherapeutic medications; however, a review of literature implicates increasing numbers of nonchemotherapeutic agents and supplements in RRD. Although the pathophysiology of RRD has yet to be elucidated, the implication of more nonchemotherapeutic agents may favor a drug hypersensitivity etiology. To our knowledge, this is the first report of RRD secondary to levofloxacin.

The external beam irradiation plays a very important role in the treatment of some thyroid diseases, such as primary cancers (papillary, follicular, medullary and anaplastic), malignant lymphoma and bone metastasis. The treatment policies, the irradiation techniques and the treatment results of these diseases are described from our experiences and the literature.
