The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of trans-Resveratrol on spermatogenesis. Male Kunming suckling mice (10 days old) were surgically rendered cryptorchid and subcutaneously injected with trans-Resveratrol at doses of 5, 10, 20, and 40 µg/g/day as groups I, II, III, and IV, respectively, for 35 days. Animals in the control group received 10 µL/mouse/day of olive oil. Serum estradiol, testosterone, FSH, and LH levels were measured on day 45. Impalpable testes constitute approximately 20% of most series of undescended testes. From January 1986 to March 1991, we performed laparoscopies on 53 patients with impalpable testes. Testodynia can be defined as long-lasting or recurrent testicular pain in younger men with no physical disease in their scrotal contents. The condition is suggested as a psychosomatic disease caused by any unrealized or unsolved existential problem leading to a chronic psychological stress reaction. The stress causes alpha 1-receptor mediated contraction of smooth muscle in the vas deferens and epididymis. The pain arises due to the muscle spasm or sperm obstruction. The therapy is a combination of psychotherapy and alpha 1-receptor blocking agents.

Twelve adult mongrel dogs underwent unilateral division of the spermatic vessels and contralateral testicular revascularization to compare the effect of these techniques on histology of the testes.
